Expert Review -
Heuristic Evaluation

The Colombian government created a series of usability guidelines and methodologies for the design of its platforms. Colombia Aprende, as a government platform, needed to comply with these guidelines. So, while exploring and interacting with the platform, we wrote in a grid a series of usability and accessibility issues that we related to one or more of the heuristics proposed by Jakob Nielsen. At the same time, we related these issues to one or more of the Colombian guidelines. At the end of the evaluation, the degree of usability for the platform was determined according to the percentage of heuristics which met the requirements of both the government and the guidelines of Jakob Nielsen.

Final Report

All usability issues found were consolidated in one document. Also, a series of technical recommendations were suggested to improve or correct each of these usability problems.

Our recommendations were usually accompanied by images and references from other platforms for better illustration.

This report was the final deliverable of the diagnosis and was designed to become a guide for the customer to make decisions before implementing improvements on the current site.
